A spectacular marble columned facade of the former Polish Bank invites you to enter this apartment designed with mid century modern furniture . The 800 square foot 2nd floor apartment features original vaulted ceilings and columned walls from the 1800s and many of the original features from its former life as a bank, all the while blending modern furniture to create a hip vintage vibe.

Miejsce
The spacious 2nd floor apartment is accessed by a full flight of stairs. Note: The first floor of the building is currently under construction but does not affect the apt. There may be some construction noise during the day.

The bedroom features a new queen size Bed Gear mattress while the common space has a comfortable queen size sleeper and can sleep two additional guests.
The bathroom has two sinks and spacious walk in shower with two shower heads. It was newly renovated in 2017 along with the kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with plates, glasses, wine glasses, bowls. But the best steamed buns and rice bowls in Baltimore are right across the street at Ekiben. Stop by and say hello and try some of our delicious food- for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Located next to the former Polish Home Club, the former Polish Bank is in an area of Fell’s Point formerly known as “Little Poland.” Baltimore’s Polish population grew rapidly in the late nineteenth century as Polish immigrants arrived at the port to work on the docks. By the turn of the century, the community was well-established with Polish churches, a Polish-language newspaper and financial institutions. This Bank still stands as a testament to the hardworking men and women who brought their families to Baltimore to make this area their home during the turn of the last century.

This gorgeous building is centrally located in the heart of Fells Point on a great vibrant block, easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. There may occasionally be some noise from folks walking past.

Dostęp dla gości
Other than some cleaning and building supplies, the entire apartment is for guests. The commercial space on the first floor is not currently occupied and not accessible to guests.

Inne ważne rzeczy
There is one flight of interior stairs up to the apartment, and stairs to enter the building. We suggest walking, renting an electric scooter or using Uber or Lyft to get around, as parking can be tricky to find on the weekends. If you're bringing a car, garage parking is recommended since free street parking is not readily available the street where we are located.

The Bank is located in the Upper Fells Point neighborhood, next door to the Historic waterfront neighborhood of Fells Point. Across the street is Ekiben, an Asian fusion takeaway restaurant. Around the corner is a breakfast/lunch/dinner called HandleBar Cafe. But within a few blocks are 100's of other great options!

We are located on the back side of Fells Point just 4 blocks from the Inner Harbor and a few blocks from Baltimore's Little Italy, Canton and Patterson Park Neighborhoods. A nice 10 minute walk to The National Aquarium and more. We are just a short walk to Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Upper Fells Point is a 19th century community nestled between Fells Point, Butchers Hill and Canton. The area is bordered by Broadway to the west, S. Washington to the east, Lombard Street to the north and Eastern Avenue to the south.

Upper Fell’s Point originally was a residential section that was developed between 1845 and 1855 for immigrants who had come to work at the docks in Fell’s Point. Prior to 1729, the town of Fells Point consisted of three homes, several tobacco houses, an orchard, and a mill. In 1797 Fells Point was incorporated into Baltimore town and included the Fell family holdings, both the Point and the higher ground to the north then known as Fells Prospect. Today the area is called Upper Fells Point. As a deep water port and maritime building center, Fells Point was largely responsible for shaping the ethnic character of Upper Fells as it exists today. The first wave of immigrants arrived in 1792. A few years later, this was the site of the first free school in Baltimore. It was academically rigorous and admitted poor children of all races and religions. By the 1880's East Baltimore canneries and clothing sweatshops were providing employment to hordes of newcomers. During the Depression many of the larger homes in the area were divided into multi-family dwellings. Upper Fells Point, as it exists today, has a rich ethnic background, with a history of diversity and tolerance.

Hi everyone, my name is Christine or some of my friends like to call me “Ting Ting.” I’m a photojournalist that travels the world documenting historic events. I’ve traveled to numerous cities in Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and Australia—and I’m always looking to collect more stamps on my passport. I love staying at the funky, crazy, weird Airbnbs and getting to know the hosts that run them. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions on things to do, places to eat, and where to get the best seafood! We want you to love Baltimore as much as we do :)
