Welcome to Brooklyn! This studio apartment has its own kitchen and full bathroom, and is separate from the rest of my house, so you'll have private space all to yourself, and no contact-related safety concerns, during your visit. There is easy access to Manhattan via the subway, which is a 5-minute walk from the house, and great restaurants, parks, a botanic garden and the Brooklyn Museum right in the neighborhood. I hope to hear from you!

Miejsce
Welcome to my studio apartment in Crown Heights, Brooklyn! This apartment is in the lower level of my house, and is separate from the rest of the house - so you will have the space to yourself and complete privacy. Some of the apartment’s perks:

• a sunny southern exposure with environmentally friendly bamboo floors
• a kitchen with an under-counter refrigerator, induction stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes and pots/pans, and dining table, so you can cook and eat in anytime you want during your stay
• a full bathroom with a bathtub, soap/shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, spa-style bathrobes and extra towels
• cable TV and wifi access
• a portable air conditioner to keep things comfortable during the summer

The sofa bed unfolds into a real, queen-sized bed, which has a spring-free design and a Tempurpedic mattress that will give you a great night's sleep. Sheets, a blanket/comforter and extra pillows are provided.

(Please note that this is a studio apartment with only one bed: the sofa bed that opens to a queen-sized bed. Air BnB has changed their website in a way that is a little confusing, and may make it look like the apartment has a separate bedroom, which is not the case.)

The Franklin Avenue subway station, which has the 2, 3, 4, 5 and S trains, is two blocks away - you can get the east or west side of Manhattan in 20-30 minutes, depending on your destination. If you have a car with you, street parking is fairly easy (though you may have to move the car some days for street cleaning).

Crown Heights is a lovely, diverse neighborhood that has gotten pretty popular because of its convenience and amenities - especially the number of restaurants on Franklin Avenue, many of which have outdoor dining space. While there are some newer larger developments nearby, I live on a street of townhouses and small apartment buildings. The apartment is walking distance from the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Park, the Berg'n Beer Hall, 24-hour food markets, coffee shops, restaurants, shopping and a year-round Saturday farmer's market. Local spaces usually host literary readings, art, music and dance performances (hopefully these will start returning soon!). Sometimes prospective guests ask about the neighborhood's safety - I'm happy to say that in the 12 years I've lived here I've never had any problems or concerns, even when coming home alone late at night, and none of my 200+ guests have either.

The apartment has its own entrance, so you will have privacy and plenty of quiet, except for occasional street noise.

While I have two cats, they don't go into the studio space (or anywhere else in the same level of the house) so even if you have allergies you should not notice them - I have had several guests who are allergic to cats and they have all been fine. I also have a 10-year-old daughter who you may hear running around occasionally, but she is pretty good about being quiet early mornings.

Please note I have updated my reservation settings to allow for at least one day between guests, as recommended by health authorities. The safety of my guests and my family is of utmost importance to me during this time, and this time will allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the apartment before your stay. Because the apartment is a totally separate space from the rest of my house, this is truly a "no-contact" travel option (and I am also fortunate to be fully vaccinated!).

I look forward to hosting you!

Crown Heights is a lovely, diverse neighborhood that has become popular because of its convenience and amenities, and I live on a street of townhouses and small apartment buildings. My house is between Franklin Avenue and Bedford Avenue, just around the corner from the subway and many restaurants. The apartment is walking distance from the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Berg'n Beer Hall, food markets, coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, a year-round Saturday farmer's market, and the jewel that is Prospect Park!

I have lived in Brooklyn for almost 30 years, and in my house for 11 - making it a true home has taken a lot of effort, but has been a labor of love.

In the years I have rented out this apartment I have really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, and to show them a side of the city one doesn't get from the typical tourist spots.

In the time I've been in Crown Heights, the neighborhood has changed quite a bit - lots of young people have moved in, and many restaurants, arts groups and other businesses have followed. It's fun to see everything new going on, and I think makes it an interesting place to visit.

I look forward to hosting you during your time in Brooklyn!

Because the apartment is separate from the rest of my house, and I am usually on a different schedule from my guests (going to work early, etc.), I often will not see people much during their stay. That being said, I am always available by phone if needed, and when I have had times to get to know my guests more I have really enjoyed it - it's one of the coolest aspects of Air B&B.
