Miejsce
Our place is a converted (in Progress) old hall where we have an art studio and gallery. The bathrooms are in a seperate building a few meters walk away and we have NO KITCHEN FACILITIES. There is off street parking and the shops and pubs/cafes are all just a minutes walk away. One of NZs Great Walks the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track starts here. Information about the many adventures this wild part of the country offers is freely available-just ask Greg.
Please be aware that this is an old building undergoing a transformation. Our pricing reflects the limitations that we work within.

Dostęp dla gości
Guests can access the Art Gallery during opening hours, shared lounge area, front garden and bathroom. We live and work at the rear of the building and our studio space is private.

Inne ważne rzeczy
We have cats. dogs and other pets that live with us. They do not have access to the guest area. You are welcome to make your self known to our dogs and we ask that you keep the bathroom foyer door closed so our cats remain inside.
We DO NOT OFFER KITCHEN FACILITIES and ask that you do not cook in the room as it is attched to the art gallery and food smells spoil art.

Tuatapere, Southland, Nowa Zelandia

Tuatapere is a small rural town that has wonderful safe walkways in beautiful bush settings. The Waiau river runs through it and the wild and beautiful south coast is just down the road.
Tuatapere is the gateway to Southern Fiordland which has some of the most remote wilderness left anywhere in the world. We are also the start point for NZs newest Great Walk the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track. Whist many visit fiordland through the now crowded gateway of Te Anau Tuatapere offers the uncrowded, undiscovered Fiordland to those wanting to find true wilderness. There are many wonderful walks both on the coast and in the bush in this area and it remains one of Nzs least known unexplored scenic wonderlands. There is very little in the way of published material on this areas attractions but I have recently written a guidebook so ask me (while you stay) and I will tell you all the secrets.

I spent my life outdoors and live where I do to be close to the mountains and the coast. I am a wilderness guide/poet/singer/songwriter. My partner and myself bought this old hall and now live in it while we convert it into a house and run an art gallery of our own art. I have lived an exciting and varied life and have an openness to the many experiences that make us human-you wont find judgement here. My life motto is... the status quo is just the beginning. (Oh the trouble that has got me into!) My own wilderness guiding business is fiordlandunexplored and offers a truly remote face to face experience of one of the last great wildernesses of the world. Ask me about it and we'll book you in to experience fiordland like few ever do.
