Large secure single storey house in Rooi Els. Large patio. Sea views. 5 minutes walking to lagoon, slipway beach, local shop and pub and Rooi Els nature reserve.
Renovated October 2017 = new kitchen, bathrooms, indoor braai, driveway, outdoor braai on the patio and outdoor shower. WiFi and Netflix added November 2019.

Rooi Els is a small, sea-side village situated in the Kogelberg Biosphere, 23 km outside of Gordon’s Bay, on the majestic Clarence Drive (R44). Rooi Els prides itself with being “one with nature” and is a perfect get-a-way for those seeking a peaceful, tranquil holiday in beautiful, natural surroundings. There is an abundance of wildlife that thrives in the fynbos vegetation, including tortoises, porcupine, mongoose, dussies (rock rabbits), baboons and many birds. Rooi Els is one of the few remaining places that provides a natural habitat for the endangered Oyster Catcher bird. Whales and dolphins are often spotted frolicking in the bay, particularly in the months between August and October.
Rooi Els has a small local shop which is the perfect place to stop and buy the kids an ice cream on your walk back from the beach. It also has a restaurant / pub next to the shop, all within close walking distance.
Rooi Els has a slip way for launching boats, as does Pringle Bay ( 7.2kms away).
During crayfish season (normally between November and April) one can catch crayfish, provided you have a license and stick to the daily quotas and sizing regulations.
The main beach at Rooi Els is within close walking distance from the house. The main beach has a fresh water lagoon that feeds into the sea. It is a shallow lagoon and is perfect for small children to play with fish nets, swim and collect shells while spending the day picnicking with the family.
There are also areas in Rooi Els that are suitable for snorkelling and fishing, all within walking distance.
Rooi Els is perfect for cycling and going on long walks or jogs..
Rooi Els is not suitable for those who wish to play loud music and host parties. Noise levels, in the evenings, must be kept to a minimum.
The joy of Rooi Els is that it’s small and peaceful while still being relatively close to the city.
