Located outside a small, quiet hamlet (altitude 800 metres) at the end of a winding road, the south-facing barn enjoys panoramic views of the mountains, and is surrounded by fields and woods - with no vis-à-vis! Entirely renovated using ecological materials, the gîte retains all the charm and authenticity of a Pyrenean dwelling, but with all the comfort of a purpose-built gite. The barn caters to everybody – couples, solos, families with children, and walkers with their four-legged friends.

Miejsce
You'll love the barn for its amazing views, its peace and quiet, its simple yet functional interior. Built of stone, wood and lime, the décor is traditional - yet light, airy and very comfortable. The barn is well insulated, and has conveniences both traditional (a wood-burning stove) and modern (a fully-equipped kitchen, washing machine, good internet reception, TV, and CD/ DVD/ USB key player). Surrounding the barn are a number of garden spots in which to soak up the sun - or to hide from it (there is sunshine early in the morning right up to the end of the day). In winter and in colder weather, wood is provided but not included in the price. Everybody pays according to his/her consumption.

Dostęp dla gości
Swings available 200 metres away .

Inne ważne rzeczy
- For those who come with animals, we appreciate if you bring a throw/cover to put on the sofa, and if you clear the faeces left in the garden.

- Please note the we have not including the cleaning fees in the price so we appreciate if you leave the barn the same way as you found it. For those who prefer not to bother, a cleaning option is available (+40€).

- Things to do in the area

Really local: relaxing on the gite terrace and enjoying the magnificent view of the mountains.

What you can do in spring, summer and autumn (or fall):

Once we know what your preferences are I will suggest the best local activities for you. These include :
• Walks/mountain treks departing from the gite itself, as well as numerous walks/treks in the high mountains and high-mountain pastures 40 or 50 minutes drive away. All ages and physical abilities are catered for. We have a wide range of maps, guides and books in the gite for you to use and consult.
• Mountain walks with donkeys.
• A refreshing swim in our local river (15 minutes drive away).
• Which mountain lakes and rivers you can swim in when doing your trek in the mountains.
• Canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, fresh-water fishing, caving, and rock climbing – all about 30 – 50 minutes minutes away from the gite.
• The thermal spa at Aulus-les-Bains. A massage can be booked at the barn too.
• Music festivals, concerts and village fetes during the summer (see official programme from the Tourist Office).

The barn is located outside a small, quiet hamlet – altitude 800 metres - set in the middle of the National Park of the Ariege-Pyrenees. With panoramic views of the mountains and Mt. Valier, the south-facing barn is surrounded by fields and woods, a paradise for those who love space, tranquility, and nature at its most unspoilt. There are a number of mountain walks to be made from the front door (for walkers of all ages) – and many more in the Couserans area of the Ariege. This is a particularly isolated part of the Pyrenees, so even in peak holiday season you can find peace and tranquility on the roads or up in the mountains.

I am a french photographer and mother of 3 children (22, 20, 18). I live in Aleu, an isolated area of the Ariège in the Pyrénnées, surrounded by nature, a nice community, and beautiful sceneries. I will make sure you know all about the local walks and good places to go. We can tell you about life in the Ariège ... --------- As guests to other airbnb, we're easy going and respectful of where we are. We're quiet and tidy and will leave the place the way we found it. We're keen to receive good tips of where to go and are open to anything - We 're interested in people.
