Miejsce
Charming, with a "tree house feel" (250 sq feet) studio apartment. Close to town but surrounded by nature. Coastal redwood trees throughout the property and neighborhood.

Private entrance. Full kitchen. Butcher block breakfast bar table and stools. The studio is clean and newly remodeled. Small, but with a comfy vibe to hang out in. Not ideal for more than 2 people. Huge private deck surrounded by coastal redwoods & bird chatter. Bistro lights, dining table, and lounge chairs for dining/lounging al fresco. There is a medium-speed road across the creek that is lightly trafficked; road noise is audible at times but not incessant.

Comfy queen bed with luxury linens and down duvet.

Coffee & tea bar, basic kitchen pantry, full service kitchen:

*Coffee & tea bar: Keurig coffee, english breakfast & decaf tea, honey, sugar, creamer.
*Basic pantry: Olive oil, vinegar, fresh ground sea salt & pepper.
*Full service kitchen: full set of pots & pans, colander, cutting board/knife, plate and bowl service for 2, mugs, glasses, wine glasses, wine opener, can opener.

**Note: You may borrow our Monterey Bay Aquarium guest passes (valid thru 12/31/20). Because of past issues there are some rules: The passes must be returned IN PERSON, which means if you use them on the same day of check out you'll have to find a way to get them back to us that evening. If you want to use them on the day of your check in, you may swing by in the morning to pick them up. Please give me enough notice to be sure I can have them in the studio for you when you check in (if you wait until you are already here, I may not be able to get them to you), so when you book please mention you plan on using them.

Feel free to ask if you need any additional supplies or have any questions.

2 uncovered outdoor parking spots, to the right of our driveway.

Dostęp dla gości
You have access to the whole studio apartment and huge deck. If you would like to store something in the garage, that can be arranged. You have a large (enough for 2 cars) uncovered parking spot.

You may walk on our private road past the open gate that says "do not enter" and possibly see bobcats, deer, wild turkey, horses, and a vast array of birds.

Drive up our road Valencia and enjoy a beautiful scenic drive to the local egg ranch for fresh organic eggs.

*Once you book I will send a confirmation message with check-in and (detailed) parking information. Please read this THROUGHLY, there is A LOT of information. The ONLY guests who have a hard time finding us are the ones who do not read the instructions I send. I am happy to text you "pin drop" to the exact parking spot, just text me 831-251-2326 and let me know you would like that.

*The bathroom is quite small and tight for tall people to navigate. It's not a deal breaker, I've heard, but that it is something to note.

*The driveway one must walk up in order to get to the studio is steep. Then there is a flight and a half of stairs to climb.

*We are on a septic system. Only paper is okay to flush. No wipes (even the ones claiming to be septic safe) allowed. No tampons. Please use provided trash receptacles. Along with being on septic, the pipes are old and ANY foreign objects WILL clog the plumbing. Plumbers in these parts don't come fast or cheap. No one wants your trip to be ruined so observation of this house rule is absolutely necessary!

*There is no disposal in kitchen. Again, please use provided trash receptacles for food trimmings/oil drippings.

*The studio is on top of a single car garage, so a small amount of garage noise is to be expected.

*Because of the quirky wiring, the ceiling fan cannot be run without a light also being on. This just means, the ceiling fan will not be useful for sleeping. We can provide a floor fan upon request.

* If you are going to arrive after dark let me know (in advance) and I'll turn on the bistro lights on the deck to guide you in (PLEASE unplug them, outside on the deck to the right, before going to sleep).

* The cushions on the deck furniture have been removed due to rain and constant wet conditions. The furniture is still quite comfy without them and I supply blankets.

*Please do not leave food in fridge "for the next guests to enjoy". I like to keep the place clean and fresh for each new guest. (This also goes for belongings you no longer want. Thanks for your cooperation :)

Lokalizacja

Aptos, Kalifornia, Stany Zjednoczone

Conveniently located:

We are 1.5 miles up a moderately windy mountain road (no shoulders, but possible to walk esp in the daylight) from the historic Aptos village in the picturesque town of Aptos.

1.7 miles to the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park: For hiking and mountain biking in the Redwoods. Miles and miles of trails!

1.5 miles to the Rio Del Mar State Beach: Home of “The Cement Ship.”  A local landmark, the S.S. Palo Alto, is docked at the end of the fishing pier.  An experimental concrete ship built as a tanker at the end of World War I, “The Cement Ship” now serves as an artificial reef for marine life. On the south side of the pier, Rio Del Mar Beach is THE spot for dog lovers and beach fires.

1.7 miles Seacliff State Beach: The perfect spot for a seaside picnic, complete with barbecue grills and shaded tables along the sand.  The long stretch of sand here is a favorite spot for RV campers.

3.8 miles (15 min drive) from Capitola Village : Capitola City Beach is a sandy beach at the north end of Monterey Bay in Capitola, CA. It’s a popular urban beach that can be jam packed on sunny days and during beach events. This south-facing beach has a large fishing pier, Capitola Wharf that sticks out into Soquel Cove where the water is usually calm due to protection from land west of here. The point beyond the east end of the beach gets waves and is a popular surfing area. Behind the beach is a lagoon formed by Soquel Creek which has birds at times putting on a show. Next to the creek are town homes in an area called the Venetian Hotel. These picturesque homes have bright multi-colored facades and form a perfect backdrop to this excellent beach. Also behind the beach are several restaurants and shops along the Esplanade. Lifeguards on duty during busy times. In the evenings during the warmer months at Capitola Beach they show movies, have twilight concerts, and host art shows while live music plays on the Esplanade Stage. Metered parking spaces can be found next to the beach on Esplanade and adjacent side streets.

2.9 miles from New Brighton State Beach: New Brighton State Beach is sheltered from most of the heavy surf that reaches the Santa Cruz coast, making it a popular spot for enjoying the waves. Boogie boarding, skim boarding, and similar sport are popular here. It is also a good place from which to launch kayaks for a paddle up the coast to Capitola Beach.

8.8 miles (20 min drive) from Downtown Santa Cruz: santacruz.org

7.5 miles (15-20 min drive) from SC Beach boardwalk: the last of the great seaside amusement parks remaining in the United States and home to two National Historic Landmarks – the 1911 Looff Carousel and 1924 Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster.
