Circa 1900 charm and back to the basics living, this cabin is a perfect little getaway spot to spend time in nature surrounded by forest, brook, wildlife, hiking trails. Simple cozy little cabin is completely off-grid. No electricity or plumbing, yet lanterns, candles, fresh water jugs provided. Unwind from the outside world and reconnect with your self or your loved ones and the natural world around you. Offering a loft with real beds, well stocked kitchen, propane stove, outhouse. Glamping!

This is tiny living! It is well stocked to meet your needs so you aren't expected to bring much. Although there is no plumbing, spring water is provided in large jugs for your washing and bathing needs, as well as large basins, buckets, and a "dry" sink. Kitchen has a propane gas stovetop and oven. All the pots and pans and kitchen necessities as well, for all your cooking and eating needs. Outhouse is the only facility. Solar bag camp shower available for outdoor showers in warmer months. Water basins can be heated on the wood stove for sponge baths in colder months. And swimming holes are everywhere. Access to the loft is by a ladder. Families welcome, but not really recommended for small children that cannot climb ladder on their own, unless they are small enough for you to safely carry. The bed is a queen mattress on the floor with clean sheets and pillows, and a wide selection of blankets depending on your comfort needs. There is a twin-sized bed that also makes a cozy reading nook. The eclectic and fascinating selection of books on the shelves will also take you back to the natural world and pioneering days. I use all natural cleaning products, and keep the cabin as organic as possible, with very little plastics or chemicals except where necessary. We live on the premesis up the road. We have a small poultry farm. You will most likely hear our rooster and Guinnea Hens in the distance during the day, and the sounds of the brook and owls at night.

You are completely surrounded by forest, over 1200 acres, and abutting access by trail to Vermont's White River Wildlife Management Unit (WMU). Our house is well above you, and we do have one neighbor well before you (a young family). Nearby Trails range from wide old logging roads to meandering paths for hiking and wandering, mountain biking, jeeping, skiing, and snowshoeing. Brook access, hidden waterfalls and overlooks all within a mile walk, and a 1 mile drive to the White River offers great swimming holes, fishing, river tubing. Hike right from the cabin, or drive 6-10 miles to hikes along the Appalachian Trail, or other gems.

Due to our remote narrow road, it is necessary to have a 4WD or AWD vehicle in order to access the cabin in the winter or spring, between early November and late April. This is no matter the weather or condition of other roads. Ours is in a class of its own. If you only have 2WD you have the option of walking the last 0.8 mile in. In some instances 2WD with snow tires and front wheel drive will get you in and out, but this can all change in an hour and there are no guarantees you won't get stuck. We can not help you out and don't want to block our neighbors! From May through October, once the roads melt and dry out, usually by late April, any vehicle will be able to access the cabin. When booking your reservation please let us know what you will be driving.

We have one neighbor, a young family, the other is over a mile away. You are really surrounded by nature and wildlife and the forest. This forest is inhabited by everything from bear to bobcat, porcupine, fisher, fox, coyote, deer, owls and hawks, woodpeckers and migrating birds of the seasons, flying squirrels, chipmunks, mice, seasonal amphibians, brook trout, raccoons, crickets and cicadas, to name a few. No matter what season you visit, the sounds of the forest and the night will vary.

I live in the woods of Vermont, creating a small homestead farm with Goats, Gardens, Maple Syrup, Honey Bees, Bunnies, Turkeys and Chickens. It's been my dream for a while now to settle and survive off the land, its an ongoing process for sure. Traveling And camping has always been a part of my life. I prefer third world countries, beaches, and good snowstorms. I Have traveled extensively in the Fiji Islands, Mexico, and Central America, and spent 10 years living in various parts of Northern California. I am happy to now call Vermont home. As long as I am outdoors I am happy, and if all else fails, rollerskate! And I am happy to report I now host travelers looking to unplug and unwind in our off-grid guest house and mini cabin in Sharon, VT!
