Flandreau is considered among the first cities to be established in South Dakota. It was founded where it is, in part, because of a small group of Flandreau Santee Sioux that established this area as their home in the late 1800's. The Dakota here refer to Flandreau as Wakpa Ipaksan, or "The Bend in the River". This region of the Plains is simple and humble, yet diverse and beautiful. So is, we believe, the 2-bedroom historic living space we've created for you. We look forward to your visit.
The Shalom Cottage is a quaint little cabin with everything you need to survive! It is set up like a studio apartment and has its own little kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven! The bathroom and shower are located on the other side of the kitchen wall! We have a queen Murphy bed that can either stay down or put it up. Sit out on the porch in the evening and enjoy the chatter of the birds and breathe in the fresh country air!
My home is a cute little twin home in the middle of Brookings with quick access to grocery stores, restaurants, and local attractions.
