Co będziecie robić
Try to imagine Bangkok without the Tuk Tuks. It's just not the same, is it? We'll use them to see some of the old city's unique markets, magnificent temples and hidden gems. We'll stop at Phra Sumera Fortress to learn about the history of this area and then head into an Amulet Market where locals sell traditional Thai amulets that have different meanings from good luck to warding off evil. Our next stop, the Golden Mount, involves climb of 318 steps, but they're fairly shallow and the path is lined with trees and Buddhist images. At the top you'll get a 360° view of the city as well as an incredible golden chedi. Next is small community who've been making alms bowls for monks by hand for centuries. These days most monk’s bowls are factory made, but there are a handful of families preserving the traditional methods. You'll stop to meet one of these families who might even give you the chance to try your hand at whichever stage of bowl-making they happen to be at during your visit. On to Pak Khlong Talad, the Flower Market, where you'll see flower garlands and religious ornaments made from banana leaves plus flowers from all over the world that are on sale 24/7, and behind it a large veggie market is open to explore. We'll meet one of the vendors and learn how to fold lotus petals. We'll end at Wat Pho the home of the famous Reclining Buddha, one of Bangkok's must-see sights
Pam, Pat & Team
We - Pam, Pat, Nai, Mond & A - are the Bangkok Urban Adventures team. We're licensed local guides who love to share the old city where we're based. We want to show you more than just the famous landmarks, to help you get under the city's skin sharing hidden gems and exploring places that locals really go while teaching you about our local culture and traditions. Many visitors come to the old city only for the Grand Palace - it is a must see - but don't miss the local markets and other temples that are full of character and a great place to see some of our traditional culture. We think Tuk Tuks are the most fun way to explore! Bangkok's old city is also known as Rattanakosin island - it's not really an island but it lies next to the Chao Phraya river and is surrounded by canals. This area dates back to the beginning of the Chakri dynasty and is home to some of it's most important royal temples as well as old markets that give a great insight to traditional Thai culture and everyday life. Travelling by Tuk Tuk is the best way to explore our old city and part of the fun!
