Co będziecie robić
We will meet at The San Juan Angler located in downtown Durango. The guided fly-fishing experience will get started once everyone is fitted with waders and boots and fishing licenses are purchased. I will be happy to offer transportation to the river and back. Once we arrive at the location, I will provide a quick tutorial covering the basics in casting, line management, hooking, fighting and landing fish. I will provide demonstrations and assist to help drive the techniques home. There is much to understand and execute but we’ll start slowly and ease our way into it. We will fish multiple spots along the river adjusting the strategy to the various conditions we’ll encounter. Be prepared to be actively engaged throughout the trip. Walking moderate distances along the water, standing for extended periods of time, weathering the elements, is all part of an average day on the water. Once we get into the rhythm of things, we can concentrate on catching fish. The trips are all catch and release but there will be plenty of opportunities to take photos. These will be the memories of a great experience. At the end of the day we will return to Durango and reminisce.
As a Colorado native born and raised, I was introduced to fly-fishing at a young age by my father and grandfather. It started as an interest, quickly turned to a passion, and is now a healthy obsession. After attending Fort Lewis College and graduating with a degree in Tourism Resort Management, I started my official fly-fishing career with The San Juan Angler fly shop and guide service in downtown Durango. I have now been guiding guests all around the 4-corners region for eight years delivering unforgettable experiences to everyone along the way. It is immensely rewarding work providing anglers of all abilities with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve success on the water.

We will explore and fish the San Juan River Quality Waters below Navajo Dam in northern New Mexico. This world-renowned river is one of the best in the country and only one-hour drive south of Durango. Anglers travel from all over the country to experience its pristine waters and high abundance of trout, averaging 10,000-20,000 fish per mile. There is almost 8 miles of perfect trout habitat to discover while chasing the fish of a lifetime.
