Co będziecie robić
The idea behind our experience is to explore Marseille and learn about its rich, 2600 year-old history, during a morning run, with breath-taking views along the way. There will be the option of a cool-down swim, or some yoga on the beach, once we arrive at Plage des Catalans, near the end of our run. The advantage of running through Marseille is that it is possible to quickly and easily view a number of beautiful sites and historic areas, which would take you days in other guided tours, not to mention hours cooped up in hot and uncomfortable forms of public transport. We start our group run at 9am in Vieux Port, and we jump straight into the history of Marseille. Along the course of the run, we will see a number of important monuments, buildings and areas of historical relevance. We will stop for a break at Notre Dame de la Garde, and there will be the opportunity to go inside the Church and take photos/have photos taken with the stunning views from the top. After that, it will be mainly downhill, with some other short stops for photos and the choice to swim or do yoga on the beach. We arrive back in Vieux port around 11.00am. It is the perfect way to start your day in Marseille!
I am a native English speaker who has fallen head-over-heels in love with Marseille, my current home city. I love the history of Marseille, I love the areas in Marseille, the beautiful views, the weather and the people. My experience here has led me to believe that the best way to see a lot of Marseille in a short time is on a morning run. Luckily, this combines with another of my passions, as I am obsessed with sports, and I am qualified to teach and instruct a number of sports. In various countries and jobs, I have taught surfing, football, swimming and tennis, as well as training and working as a life-guard and first-aider. Lily, my partner and co-host, is also a sports enthusiast, yoga instructor and keen runner, and has competed in a number of events and races, including half-marathons, 'the Grizzly' and 'Color' runs.

There are too many places and sights along the run to be able to describe them in any depth to you. However, in list form, we will pass l'Opéra, Palais de Justice, Parc Pierre Puget, Notre Dame de la Garde, la Corniche, Vallon des Auffes, Plage des Catalans, Palais du Pharo, Fort St Nicolas, Abbaye St Victor and, of course, Vieux Port. We will stop at and talk about the majority of these spots, but can only enter into Notre Dame de la Garde.

Our route takes approximately 2 hours, including stops. It is not a fast run, but there are hills! We always adjust our pace and route according to need - it is not a race! It is just under 10km.
