Co będziecie robić

I will lead hikers on a trek up one of my favorite wildflower meadow filled trails into the pristine Wilderness. There are areas along this trail where the wildflowers are just incredible in the springtime! The hills are simply covered in wildflowers like Prickly Poppies, Indian Paint Brush, Purple Wild Thistle, Yellow Rabbit Brush and purple Penstemon. This area burned in the 2015 Lake Fire and now a few years later the whole area is covered in colorful wildflowers. I will take your group on a tour up to historic Horse Meadows and to the pretty hidden creek above the meadows. The first section of this hike is steep; We do climb 600 feet in 1.5 miles but we will take as many breaks as your group wants (And you will want to take a lot of breaks to take photos of the fields of wildflowers!)
Horse Meadows is a three-mile round trip hike. I offer this as a 3-5 mile hike in two hours depending on how fast your group wants to hike; How many photo ops you want to take and how hard you want the hike to be. If you do wish to hike farther then the five miles into the San Gorgonio Wilderness and want to do a 6-10 mile, four-hour hike, I offer that option as well. Please inquire about pricing for a longer hike.
Kids are totally invited on this hike if they are okay with the elevation gain.
Dogs are always invited on leash.

I’ve been hiking in the San Bernardino Mountains for 20 years. I know almost every trail on this mountain between Crestline and Big Bear and love to share my favorite hikes with travelers adventuring through our local wilderness. I'm well versed on local flora and fauna and love to share my knowledge with visitors to our local mountains. I also will photograph your whole hike and email photos of you and your guests enjoying this truly breathtaking wild flower studded hike.

Gdzie będziecie

We will trek up the wildflower trail and stop at the historic Horse Meadows for a break. There are picnic tables here if you wish to have a snack. From here it's still a bit more uphill to the top of Poopout Hill. From Poopout Hill we can take a slight detour to the San Gorgonio sign for photo ops, or continue on to check out the creek.
If guests want to do this hike earlier than June I do have a couple other options for wildflowers in Big Bear.

This hike was beautiful! The flowers are all blooming right now (early summer) and it's super pretty! The hike is mostly a gentle incline up, not too hard and Amber is totally fine going at any speed you are comfortable with. You can go far or just hike a little ways. There was a lovely meadow about a mile up we stopped in that I took a bunch of pictures of. There's also more great photo spots a little higher up. And colorful wildflowers spread out along the whole trail! Amber was very easy to talk to and be comfortable around. She knows a lot about the area and specifically the names of lots of plants and flowers. I would definitely recommend this hike any time of year but especially when all the flowers are blooming!
