On this unique forest bathing experience, you'll get exclusive access to the Kahaluʻu Gallery and Gardens, the former home, studio, and gallery of well-known oil painters Hiroshi Tagami and Michael Powell. The gardens were designed and created by the late Mr. Tagami and feature a wide variety of exotic and beautiful plants and flowers, some specimens even created by the the artist himself. You'll be guided on a gentle, mindful stroll through the grounds, an ideal setting to leave behind the stresses of the world and get in touch with the healing powers of the natural world. As we move through the garden and follow the paved switchback which descends into the forested gully at the back of the property, your certified forest therapy guide will offer a series of “invitations” to help you re-connect with nature and with yourself through your senses.
Following your forest bathing walk, you're welcome to browse the art gallery, where you'll find paintings and giclees by Tagami and Powell, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, and photography. (The gallery and gardens are usually open by appointment only.)
