Co będziecie robić

Discover the history of the center with me! We are going to walk a lot around the Historic Centre of Mexico City. This is ideal for your first day in the city!

I have adapted the tour to make it as safe as possible during this time. Our groups are maximum of 8 people. The city center can be crowded, but we'll mostly be in open spaces, and will take all the precautions, but mostly we'll be enjoying, walking and learning.

We will get to know the history and traditions of many of the most famous places such as the Palacio de Bellas Artes, some murals, and the cathedral, but we will also visit less touristy spots like old colonial houses and traditional candy stores.

During the tour, we will talk about the conquest, religion, Mexica traditions, migration, prostitution, power, wars, poverty, popular religiosity, commerce, architecture, art, and symbols that have made Mexico such a great and vibrant city. Obviously, tacos are a must! (I'll make sure everything is super safe, and the place we visit complies with all the sanitary measures).

Some other stuff:
*Let me know if you want to have the experience at a different hour or any special requests.
*Take into account this tour might be bilingual if you want to make sure it's only in your language please contact me before booking.
*Follow me on Instagram @caminalaciudad
Other things to note
We are going to walk a lot, so it's better to be comfortable and to bring water. It's good to bring a backpack to store your valuables.

History has always been my passion and I studied it in university, so I know many of the secrets hidden in the buildings and streets of the city.

That way, I can easily make connections between the indigenous, colonial, 19th century or modern past and the city that we are visiting and looking at.

Also, I love meeting people and traveling! So when I can't go somewhere else, I like to explore my town and walk the city with local friends or foreigners. Right now, one of the things that have been keeping me sane is walking, and what better way to it than this?

I speak three languages and I have been a high-school teacher, I also have taught from children to elderly groups, so I can explain everything easily and adapt the tour to the wants and needs of the group.

Gdzie będziecie

Basically, we'll walk through the streets of the historical center and some of its most famous buildings. We will visit the surroundings of the Alameda park, the streets of Madero and Tacuba, the Zócalo, some places of Av. Pino Suárez, the Santo Domingo Plaza, and the Merced neighborhood.

There is sooo much to see in the city, so I always try to adapt the places we visit to what the group is the most interested in.

This tour beat every expectation. Pau is a historian, an entertaining one. She customizes the experience depending on what you're into, because there is just too much to cover in centro. She is a walking encyclopedia about not just Mexican but world cultures and I can't recommend her enough as a guide. She is friendly, kind and generous with her time and knowledge. The tacos and agua fresca sealed the deal. If you are taking a tour of centro, this is the one you should take.

Pau is absolutely an expert in Mexican history and politics. We hit the main landmarks in the historical center, learned about the Spanish invasion, the architecture, the politics of Mexico. She is a wealth of knowledge. The tour was thorough and interesting for anyone really hoping to learn about history snd politics of Mexico! It was accurately described and at the end, she pointed out some great places go visit that we would’ve missed if not for Pau! Thank you so much Pau!!

We visited during the pandemic but it' still worth it. Pau is very professional she obviously loves the city and has a non-manichean presentation of the History
