Yoga on the beach is both calming and stress-relieving, while helping to stretch and strengthen the body, also meditating with the sounds of the sea. The emphasis is on building awareness of the breath, the body and the nature. Postures are practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment and detail.
My focus and drive for teaching lies in helping individuals to find their own sustainable practice, which can both support and develop their own life.

Other things to note
Beach yoga for all abilities, no previous experience required. Please let me know how many beginners will be in the group & if there is any injuries of anyone or pregnancy that I should be aware of.

I am a certified Yoga teacher with Alliance RYT 282 Hours training, specialised in Ashtanga Vinyasa techniques, and restorative yoga with 5 years teaching experience in Bournemouth UK. Currently I am teaching at Chewton Glen Hotel, Shiva Shakti yoga studio, Meyrick Park Golf Club, Arts University, Bournemouth symphony orchestra, and many others. I was also overseeing the Park Yoga Project for Bournemouth Council in 2017 which saw over 50 people attending every week.
With many years of practise and devotion to Ashtanga vinyasa flow, concepts of yogic philosophy, and mindfulness meditation throughout Asia, I bring in the respect for the mystery of life and encourage you all to practise with an open mind. I look forward to practising with you!

What a fantastic 121 session I had! Joy is highly professional and flexible as well as open and extremely friendly person. I would love to take her regular yoga classes :-)

Joy leads a great yoga class, mats on the sand, view of the ocean. She's a lovely person - giving advice on the area over ginger tea after the class. Great experience!

Joy was so thoughtful we booked a yoga session for a hen do group in our garden and she not only did a wonderful class for all abilities but also did a great team bonding style relaxation massage class at the end in pairs and made brownies and herbal tea for afterwards! We were all so impressed.

so wonderful to practice yoga on the beech. enjoyed a deep relaxation at the end and with singing bowls. Joy also brought so.e delicious tea for us to drink after the session. thanks Joy

I am fairly new to yoga and had never tried yoga on the beach. This was a wonderful experience and made me feel truly relaxed. Joy was a great instructor, not only showing us the moves but giving modifications to make the moves both easier and more challenging, while explaining the health benefits of each move. Even though there were inevitably quite a few other people on the beach it was easy to stay focused and relaxed. Joy and her husband even gave us some delicious tea after the session and we had some interesting conversations. I would highly recommend.

Great location (weather permitting), thoughtful, friendly and knowledgeable hosts. I felt very welcome and learned some new things although I am only a beginner! There were levels/options given for each position so you could push further or stay at a more comfortable level. I would do this again if I was in the area :)
