Co będziecie robić

The experience will start in an ancient medieval town named Cesi, where we will reach the best viewpoint around the area. From there we will be able to admire the mesmerising hilly landscape. After taking some photos and breathing fresh air, we will jump in our cars and reach higher grounds (c. 600-800 m. a.s.l.). At this point we won't need our car anymore - this will be the best part of our journey. Armed with just our binocularsphotography gear and passion for wildlife we will start our trek looking for all the possible wildlife we can spot. We will trek for 2-4 hours searching for birds, wild bees, colourful butterflies, mammals and reptiles. During this time, you will be able to take some amazing shots! Mid way through the trek we will stop and have a picnic, so that we can recharge our energy and continue to spot wildlife. Time permitting, we can reach the top of the mountain (1120m. a.s.l.) were we can admire the mountainous landscape as well as visit the remains of some ancient roman ruins.
In nature nothing is guaranteed. Animals tend to be elusive so if luck is on our side, you will be able to see many of them! Trekking can also be quite tiring as we will be going mostly uphill. The trek can be adapted to your necessities!

I lived in my hometown for 15+ years - all this time allowed me to explore the surrounding areas and gather valuable knowledge about trail systems, animals, plants and insects that live in these habitats. Having completed a Bachelor in Zoology and a Masters in Global Biodiversity Conservation, I am confident that my skills and knowledge learnt during my academic and non academic career will make this experience unique. I feel that thanks to my passion for biodiversity, the outdoors and teaching as well as my multicultural background make me the perfect person for this activity. Since 2020 I started working as an environmental guide affiliated to AIGAE (UM179).

Gdzie będziecie

Cesi is a small town that retains its late-medieval aspect, set among olive groves and stretched out lengthwise along a narrow contour on the slopes of Mount Torre Maggiore. The mountain we will be hiking on is characterised by having primarily limestone formations hosting typical mediterranean flora and fauna. On top of the mountain we can find a Roman Church and a 3000 year old temple!
