We will be boarding on a time traveling machine that will take us through centuries of history to understand why the city looks the way it does, what are the popular beliefs and what does it mean to live for a day in the shoes of a Portuguese? We will go ON and OFF the beaten path to understand better this city of contrasts, of mysteries and legends. We will be exploring four of the most iconic neighborhoods of the city: BAIXA, the whole area rebuilt after the most catastrophic event in the history of Portugal, in a very peculiar architectural style; MOURARIA, the most atypical-typical Portuguese neighborhood and birthplace of FADO music; CASTELO, where the Castle proudly stands; ALFAMA, to be touched by an incredible community spirit, among some of the city's oldest residents. From the hidden alleys to some of the most stunning PANORAMIC VIEWS (Miradouros, for the Portuguese language lovers) we will be admiring incredible pieces of STREET ART. We will learn not to live like a local, but to understand like a local. We will get familiarized with the countries SYMBOLS, we will elucidate the mystery of this fish that is not fished in Portugal, but it is eaten more than any other local fish and we will find out what is our GRANNY'S CURE for all matter of illnesses.
