1. I will show you my workshop with commentary. You can appreciate Nishikori art work, restored textile, restored tall loom , tapestry. It will take about 30~60 minutes.
2.In weaving experience you choose one kind of color thread from 8 kinds, weave weave of 10 cm square and take it home. It will take about 20 minutes／per person. It will take about 10 minutes for later processing.
You will experience in the same place as the place where the weaver is weaving.
3.At the end of the course I will show you the magic show of the textile.
There is a English speaking staff.(supporting host)
There is also shopping.
Two loom is available. In the case of three people you will weave in order.
The main thread used is silk thread, and other threads are gold thread and lame thread.

My wife Takako is in charge of weaving when I can't guide you. In addition, English support staff Minoru will also guide you through the workshop.
・You take off your shoes in most rooms.
・Eating and drinking in the workshop is prohibited.
・There is one restroom for one person.
・There are two stairs

I'm a Japanese traditional textile artist. 4th generation. I held some weaving culture work shops in order to inherit Japanese traditional textiles and culture. I would be very happy if we could interact with everyone through the textile.

Amazing experience to get to know some of the essence and beauty of the Japanese culture through weaving. The intricacy of the art is something beyond imagination and utterly beautiful. I hope that more people get to know and appreciate the beauty of such art and together preserve it as an importance piece of human history.

This experience blew my mind! I was expecting just a tour of the place, but instead I was introduced to many jaw dropping silk-weaving masterpieces. Every art piece is carefully designed to the pixel level, and exquisitely made with high quality silk thread. They appear differently based on light, angle and the surrounding environment, almost like a pleasant optical illusion. I learned so much about the history of traditional Kyoto weaving. The hands on weaving experience was also super fun. I spent around 20-30min making just simple, small square, which made me appreciate the amount of effort put into each artwork even more!

一般に認知されている西陣織と錦織の違いやその特徴、そして錦織がどのような人たちに愛されているのかを知ることができます。私が体験したときは少人数だったので、いろんな質問にも答えて頂けました。昔の織物はこうだった、今ではこうなった、こんな方に贈られた、こんな方に使って頂いている、などなど。
体験はもちろん実際の機械を使ってガシャンガシャンと行っていきます。機械といっても木や竹の類のものなので、すごく香りがいいです。動かしてるときの音が大好きになりました。
体験で作ったものは持ち帰りができるので、今はそれをどこで使うか考えて楽しんでます。
格式高そうで、かなり緊張していきましたが、無用な心配でした。飛び込んで経験してみて本当に良かったです。
