Co będziecie robić

Spend an evening exploring old KL: search out historic colonial gems & speakeasies (bar with a hidden entrance).

This is a unique walk with good stories and anecdotes from a local who knows how to get around the city. You will learn about Old KL, architecture & our culture.

To start the tour we meet at Central Market. From here get ready to be absorbed in the diverse colours, flavours and colonial architecture of eclectic Kuala Lumpur. I'll share with you stories of what once was. I'll show you pictures of times before and leave your imagination to weave back to the past.

We continue towards Chinatown (on a parallel road), which is often bustling and heaving with people enjoying a spot of shopping and street food. I will share with you places to eat and of other speakeasies for you to discover at the end of this walk.

I'll help you plan your itinerary in KL with hidden local spots or answer questions about the city.

We end with a sundowner at a speakeasy where you may craft your own cocktail (price not included in the experience): the perfect place to sit back, relax and reminisce on your experience.
Other things to note
* You're looking at enjoying a sunset walk with local cake tasting.

* Cost of cocktail at speakeasy is not included.

* While this is a child friendly walk, it is not a stroller-friendly walk

We had such an awesome time with Manjeet - it was a delight to meet her, and learn so much about KL’s past and present. Both of us who went on the walk are architecture buffs, so it was great to learn about many of the significant colonial era buildings, and to hear about challenges facing them today. Manjeet clearly knows a lot about her city, and it is evident that she has conducted extensive research so that she can give her guests and in-depth and well rounded experience.

Manjeet is a walking guidebook to the history and culture of Malaysia. Definitely one of the best and most insightful cultural walks i've ever participated in. Manjeet is very kind and accommodating, we went on ahead with the tour even though it was raining. But then again, if youre with Manjeet, no matter the weather, you'll be treated to a very interesting tour.

This was a great tour. Manjeet really knows her stuff and was very accommodating. Ours was a private tour and Because I had told her about our family, that we had three elderly people among us, she made sure that our walk was designed to be less physically strenuous. Despite the rainy weather, we made it to various locations and enjoyed some local sweets all with a nice background story and context setting. Staring from our visit to the Chinese temple that Manjeet described in great detail to our final stop at the Indian temple for Navratri celebrations, we remained both intrigued and satisfied with the place and pace. This was punctuated by a visit to the central market, the confluence of two rivers that is Kuala Lumpur and a local eatery for some tea and sweets. I would encourage readers to take this tour. I would also like to thank Manjeet for giving us pointers by suggesting interesting locations to visit during our visit that proved to be very helpful.

Manjeet is such a lovely warm, intelligent host. She openly shared her life story and helped us to understand the great changes that have taken place in KL is the last 15 years. The area was full of intersecting stories and history from British times, Chinese and Hindu temples and we finished up at the coolest cocktail bar in KL PS150. It was a great evening.

If you find this city a bit hard to understand or you don’t quite get what all the fuss is about, then Manjeet’s whistle stop tour is for you. Peppered with personal stories and titbits with a light sprinkling of history and the origins of the city with some great views along the way. Manjeet’s passion for her city and her country speaks volumes through her tour. The speakeasy at the end was the cherry on the cake!
