Co będziecie robić

There is so much unique nature for children and families to experience in Big Bear Lake. Take a family-friendly walk with me into the woods of Big Bear and let me teach you and your family about our native plants and the history of the Big Bear Valley. We might visit sacred Serrano Indian sites or even munch on wild plants we see growing on the trailside. I will tell you and your family stories about the animals who live in this forest, even showing your children animal tracks, owl pellets and if we see any butterflies I will teach your children the secrets to taking the best butterfly photos.
I love sharing my knowledge of this wilderness with young guests to Big Bear. As an outdoor enthusiast, I have so many tales to entertain families about our local Big Bear wildlife. If we meet any butterflies on the trail I will even give your children a quick lesson on butterfly photography!
Did you ever wonder about what might be the edible plants on the trails of Big Bear? I will teach your family how to safely harvest a cactus blossom for a quick trail snack and also show you other edible wild berries, herbs and flowers.
I feel like getting kids interested in nature when they are young is a great way to influence the future generations of outdoor lovers. Big Bear Lake is a great alpine area to learn about our local plants and and animals.

I grew up hiking the trails of Big Bear and taught myself from a young age about our native plants. As young as 12 years old my mom would tell me to go outside and play and I basically never stopped. I grew up exploring the woods of the San Bernardino Mountains, learning about wild plants both on the trail and in school and observing wild animals in their element. It was a fantastic way to grow up and I love sharing my local knowledge with visitors.
As a child growing up in Big Bear I also learned a lot of very useful knowledge on nature walks just in my elementary years. I feel like a love of nature and the wilderness is something that some children miss out on in this time when video games and phones are more popular than snowshoes and hiking trails.

We brought our three year old and one year old. Personally not worth the money, we ended and went on our own drive/walk. Easy money my husband thought. Wish I didn’t buy the experience and used it towards something else.

Thank you Amber for keeping us company. We enjoyed the walka and was able to take great pictures. It seems our dog loves you too and enjoyed the trip because she keeps following you during the whole hike.

Thank you for accommodating our family of 8, baby, and 2 dogs! The location was beautiful and an easy hike for certain individuals that could not do any rigorous trek. This was definitely an area we had not heard of and probably would not have found on our own.

Amber was an extremely knowledgeable and gracious guide. She made sure to choose a hike that was scenic and beautiful but manageable for our 4 year old twins. They especially loved the hot chocolate break!

This was our second experience with Amber.  This was such a great experience for our family.  Our kids really enjoyed learning so much about nature from Amber -- especially the different types of trees, plants, insects, native animals.  Also, it was so helpful learning about what's edible and what's not.  Our kids really enjoyed the interactive nature of the hike too, as Amber would stop and point out things that our kids could experience (such as plants that we could taste/smell).  We took a break in the middle of the hike and enjoyed some hot chocolate that Amber provided, which hit the spot.  Amber catered the hike to our family and was mindful of our youngest (age 4).  So it was the right amount of distance for our kids.  When we're back in Big Bear, we hope to book another experience with Amber!
