In groups of up to 6 people, see Logroño and its surroundings from a different angle by challenging yourself to a moderately testing multi-terrain run that climbs to a vantage point overlooking not only the entire city but also the Ebro Valley.
Leaving from your city-centre accommodation we'll cross the old town and run along a stretch of the famous Camino de Santiago before commencing a gradual ascent through vineyards to the top of Monte Cantabria, the site of an ancient settlement dating back over 1,500 years.
From here we're offered a stunning 360º view of the varied mountains and countryside that this winemaking region has to offer, not to mention a wonderful panoramic view of the city. It provides a great opportunity to take superb photos and get a sense of the natural diversity that La Rioja has to offer.
The out-and-back route is approx. 6-8kms from the city centre and total elevation is 150m. The ascent to the top is a gradual climb that combines tarmac and slightly more uneven ground, meaning both road and trail running shoes are appropriate.
The aim of the run is to energize and inform in equal measure, with the pace being set by the least experienced runner. The experience also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions about your stay in the city and/or region, especially regarding surrounding towns and villages - many of which can be seen from the summit.
