Enjoy a pasta cooking lesson and learn how to make the famous Spoleto pasta: Strangozzi.

Taste an authentic Umbrian 3-course menu including starter, pasta (the fruit of your labour :-)), and dessert with drinks included.

Enjoy a selection of red and white wines from local producers: our Cesarine select wines from their own region.

I love to cook and couldn’t think of a better way to spend a few hours than learning how to make the local pasta while my husband and I spent a week in Umbria. The experience with Claudia far exceeded our expectations! We began with a walking tour through Spoleta where we shopped for some ingredients and Claudia and Francesco shared some history of the city. When we arrived back at their home, Claudia offered to show us her family’s garden and farm next door. Wow! Not only did we get to see where some of the ingredients for our dinner were grown, but we were given the chance to taste her father’s wine. Molto bene! Now it was off to the kitchen and our lesson. Claudia was an excellent (and patient) teacher! She even turned my husband, who never cooks, into a strangozzi expert! We were expecting a small antipasto before our strangozzi with summer truffles and instead were presented with a giant platter of local meats and cheeses (including her Papa’s prosciutto), bruschetta with fresh from the garden tomatoes and a few treats specially made by Claudia Thankfully we had a little room left in our bellies for the pasta we had made during our lesson, because it was amazing! Tender and delicious and full of fragrant truffles. Yum. We ended our perfect evening with homemade crescionda di Spoleto AND tiramisu. Who knew that a brief online search for a cooking class would end with a better understanding of the people and traditions of Spoleto and the feeling that we were a part of Claudia’s family?
