Let’s explore Kamakura, the home of Japan's first shogunate (military government), and the country's capital from 1188 to 1333. I'll explain the history and culture of this important era. We'll visit Tsurugaoka Hachimangu-gu Shrine, built by the first shogun, Yoritomo Minamoto, followed by a walk down Komachi-dori, Kamakura’s famous shopping street. We’ll visit Hasedera, with its beautiful gardens and views across the bay, and then proceed to the magnificent Great Buddha, standing more than 13 meters tall. All in all, it’s a fun day out for singles, couples, and families, as we visit temples, shrines, and gardens, explore caves, spot wildlife and exotic flowers, sample Japanese foods, go shopping, and experience great views of Sagami Bay and Yuigahama Beach. As a photographer, I can advise you on how to take great travel pictures and/or take photos of you completely free of charge enjoying the different venues we'll visit. Forget about those awkward poses stretching out for selfies; I'll do the photography for you and send the pics directly to your inbox. What's more, spring is a great time to visit with plum and cherry blossoms in full bloom!
