Co będziecie robić

I will lead you on about 20km photography run through Minato-ku. Should the distance be a bit too much for you, it is possible to finish at about 13th kilometer and still experiencing much of what the longer distance has to offer. In this vast and densely populated city, it’s not always easy to find suitable running routes. After a few trial and errors, I’ve found some magical views that never fail to astonish me. We will run together and bring a camera along. We will run at an easy pace of about 6’/km (9’40”/mile), yet this pace can be increased or decreased based on the group’s/individual’s needs. If in a group, the pace will be adjusted to the slowest individual. I will provide basic information about what we see, and I can take pictures of you running in this magnificent city. A digital album of about 30 high resolution, post-processed images will be ready the same day (please consider this when looking at the price of this experience). You can take your own pictures on the run and, if needed, I can help with a variety of photography tips. Upon finishing our run, you’ll have a sense of accomplishment as well as beautiful images of the city - on your/my camera and/or in your heart. You might even find a new friendship.
Other things to note
Please only sign up if you know you’ll enjoy the distance (20K or 13K) at the pace mentioned above. However, with picture stops, the distance seems to be enjoyable for anyone. If you don’t see a suitable date and/or would like to run a shorter/longer distance, please contact me individually.

I am a science teacher, running coach, avid photographer, and a former personal trainer. I have lived in Tokyo for over five years. I often bring my camera along on my runs and would like to share my passion for healthy living and photography with travelers possessing the same interests. In this vast and densely populated city, it’s not always easy to find suitable running routes. After a few trial and errors, I’ve found paths with some magical views that never fail to astonish me.

I had the best experience running with Radim. Since the Tokyo marathon got cancelled I still wanted to run in the city. Radim was the perfect guide and came up with a great route along the Olympic village. We talked along the way about running, his life in Japan and more. It was a fun experience and the pictures he took of me turned out great. Definitely worth the money.

It was nice to have a run with Radim on the first day of the CNY. I wanted to do something special at the start of this year of the Rat, and this was definitely unique. I ran across Tokyo Tower, Zojoji Temple, Azabu Juban, Old Tsukiji fish market, New Toyosu Market, Olympic Village, Daiba etc. I may have been tired recently due to work and poor sleep, I could have done better; but Radim was a great coach who was super friendly and patient. He also took natural pictures which captured the beauty of Minatoku from a different angle. Running helps me unwind and get rid of negative thoughts. I regard this as a reflective new year run. I enjoyed both the modernity and the quietness of Minatoku. Thanks Radim!! (Starbucks is right above exit 4 of Shirokane-takanawa Station 白金高輪 There are many staircases along Namboku line南北線)

This is an incredible run through parts of Tokyo you otherwise might not see, which is perfect... The new Olympic village, the old Tsukiji market, rainbow bridge and so on. You see the Tokyo skyline change colors through dusk and the lights come on at night (we ran 345p in late Nov) from various parts of the city. The run itself is a workout. Radim is a fast runner but will slow down for you. Overall, a highly memorable experience.

It was a awesome running experience and great workout after lots of good meal in Tokyo. Radim is very friendly and I felt welcome when we first meet. Before I signed up this activity, some people would think it sounds a bit pricey to pay for running. As a traveller I am pretty sure it's difficult to track the map/gps signal, watch out the traffic in a new place by myself, I couldnt have such a smooth and safe run without the guidence from Radim. It kept raining a bit on and off, but it wasnt too bad, Radim got me some great photo shots in some famous landmarks. The most fun part is running across Rainbow bridge, I would recommend you should try the Yurikamomi train to cross the bridge the other day, you will be amazed how much you achieved. This experience is totally worth it, the route is safe and fun and got some running tips from Radim.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience in Japan, look no further! Running with Radim is one of those rare experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life! It was my last day in Japan, and there was so much that I still wanted to see in Tokyo. There are some obvious touristy places that most people will see while in Japan, but I knew there must be some more underground areas that only locals know about, which don’t come about in a normal tour. This experience not only provided me with an enjoyable and satisfying activity on my last day, but I also got to experience many sides of Tokyo that I otherwise would not have seen, not to mention receiving beautiful photography of my adventure! The tour: It is obvious that Radim took the time to plan out the best route around both monumental areas and local hidden areas in Tokyo. We ran through busy streets, tranquil parks, beautiful beaches, over the rainbow bridge, and many other places! A tour on foot really allows you to really immerse yourself with the vibe of the city.  He also knew the names, history and facts of what felt like every place we stopped at. The run: Before this experience, I had never run 20km at once before! In a normal week, I run 5k maybe 3-4x week, so when I first saw this experience, I was a little worried about the distance. However, that worry was quickly quelled as soon as we began running. Radim adjusted our speeds from the beginning so that I was able to complete the entire distance with no problem! His adjustments in speed, our water/photography breaks and interesting conversations made the time and distance fly by! My advice would be to try the 20km tour (it felt very doable for me) but if 20 km seems a bit intimidating, Radim is happy to adjust the distance if you message him. The photography: We all know that a picture is worth a 1000 words, but being able to actually capture Toyko’s beauty, (especially during sunset!!) is not an easy job. Radim took breathtaking pictures of the beautiful Tokyo skyline, beaches, landmarks (big and small) and amazingggg action shots of me running in these places! My family was astonished at the quality of the pictures when I showed them afterwards. Also, the turnover time for the pictures was extremely quick! Post run: Radim went above and beyond the description of this experience! He gave me advice on finding a new running shoe (mine was getting worn and I had no idea which brand I should try next), and even showed me exactly where to find the store in Tokyo through the metro. He even created a collage to show the ground we covered on our run! Overall: Truly, this experience will be one of the few that you will always remember! I can easily say it was one of the highlights of my trip! The sense of accomplishment after running 20km, experiencing Tokyo’s beauty (and having the pics to prove it) will have you glowing!

This experience surpassed any expectations going into it. I was hesitant about the distance, and Radim was happy to accomodate a shorter distance if I wanted, and at my pace. At the end of the day, we ran to so many incredible places and stopped occassionally to look out and take pictures, so before we knew it, we had gone 20km around the city! It was a killer run and a fulfilling cultural experience. :) Radim knows the history of the buildings we pass, and has unique insight into the life and culture of Tokyo which he shares while running. He adds the photography aspect as well to the run, and takes INCREDIBLE running / in-action shots throughout the experience, in addition to capturing shots of the views, which are breathtaking. As a foreigner visiting Tokyo and someone with a passion for running, this experience has been my favorite. I felt like I got to see and learn so much about the city and, no doubt get some amazing photos! If you are considering doing the experience, Go for it! Radim is patient, and easy to connect with, and will surly provide an active experience you will always remember.
