I'm a pure okinawan. I was born and raised up in okinawa. I've been to 6 countries. I like to find new places that I never been, then I could find more than 70 stores, cafe and restaurants on my foot. My hobby is playing "Sansin" which is okinawan traditional instrument. I want to make a lot of friends in the world!

Gdzie będziecie

In "Heiwa street", many shops are still remeined old. You are able to feel this atmosphere and meet many elderly ( we say "ojii" and "obaa"). Okinawan people are very friendly and like talking, so it is very practical to learn Japanese and okinawa dialect!

It's a good experience to notice things you wouldn't necessarily see as a tourist walking around. She also provides a good introduction to the Okinawan language. It's important to learn that Okinawa has its own culture and identity that is distinct from Japan. Asuka contacted us ahead of time to find out what we were interested in experiencing. After the initial introduction, it was like taking a walk with a friend more than a formal tour.

It was very easy to meet up with Asuka. It ended up being a private tour with just me & my husband which was super nice. She’s very friendly and she showed us some interesting back streets with cute old shops that we wouldn’t have found on our own. She prepared handouts with some Okinawan language basics and her English was excellent. The tour ended with lunch at a very locals-only restaurant with traditional Okinawan food, which was very good. She also made some recommendations of other places we could go based on our interests.

I loved this experience! Asuka taught me some simple but meaningful phrases in Okinawan that really helped me understand more about this unique culture, and then we had a short walking tour where she pointed out several unique Okinawan items. She is friendly and knowledgeable and there are very few people left with this kind of insight into this endangered language. Highly recommend!
